If you are a high-potential cricketer who wants to play for UNSWCC, you may be eligible for a scholarship from the university or directly from the club.

UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS

The University offers several scholarships to potential First Class or First Grade cricketers who are current or enrolling students at UNSW:

The UNSW Cricket Club Awards
These newly-endowed Awards are designed to assist high-potential cricketers to progress their studies and their cricket at UNSW. They provide:

The Ben Lexcen Scholarships
(including the Lawson-Slater Cricket Scholarship)

These scholarships are awarded to elite student-athletes from multiple sports. Typically 1-2 Lexcen scholarships are awarded to cricketers each year. They provide:

High Performance Scholarships
These scholarships supplement the Lexcen program and are also awarded to elite student-athletes from multiple sports. They provide:

These scholarships supplement the Lexcen and High Performance program. They provide:

CLUB SCHOLARSHIPS

From time to time, UNSW Cricket Club offers additional scholarships to outstanding young players and people, including:

The Peter Dodd Scholarship:
A discretionary award (in recent years $3,000) to a country player joining the club and studying at the university.

Scholarship candidates must be potential First Grade cricketers with strong personal qualities and a record of achievement on and off the field. Applications must be made directly to the club.

Peter grew up on the North Coast of NSW and is a former 1st Grade wicketkeeper for the club.

The UNSWCC Country Scholarships:
Additional discretionary scholarships (in recent years $2,500) designed to assist young country cricketers with the transition to cricket (and life) in Sydney.

Again, scholarship candidates must be potential First Grade cricketers with strong personal qualities and a record of achievement on and off the field, and applications must be made directly to the club.

UNSW ELITE ATHLETES & PERFORMERS PROGRAM

Under the UNSW Elite Athletes and Performers Program, students can be considered for EAP bonus points for undergraduate study at UNSW (EAP Bonus Points are not available for admission to the BMedMD, or any Co-op degrees).

The EAP Program awards up to five bonus points to high school leavers who have excelled in areas of sport, academia, leadership, and/or music at an elite level.

The Elite Athletes and Performers Program also provides eligible students in all study programs the necessary support to successfully integrate their academic life with their sporting pursuits through enrolment flexibility, cross-institutional study options and leave of absence for travel commitments.
